Hanane Mouhib indicted in brutal killing of 7-year-old son in Brockport

Shawn DowdHanane Mouhib(Photo: submitted)Hanane Mouhib has been indicted by a Monroe County grand jury on charges related to the slaying of her son last week.She had been scheduled to appear in Sweden Town Court at noon Wednesday, but the indictment made that unnecessary, according to a spokesperson for the town court. Details of that indictment were not available on Wednesday.Mouhib is accused of stabbing and decapitating her 7-year-old son, Abraham Cardenas, with a large kitchen knife inside one room of the family's home while her husband, another son and her mother-in-law were in an adjacent room.Word of the grand jury's action came the same day as funeral services for Abraham, held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Fowler Funeral Home in Clarkson. By family request, media was not allowed on the funeral home grounds. The funeral home's parking lot was full from 4 p.m. on with a steady stream of mourners paying their respects to the boy and his surviving family.
